World Pork Expo Offers Access to Information and Technology to Improve Business
Doug Fricke - National Pork Producers Council

Farmscape for May 30, 2017

The Director of Trade Show Marketing with the National Pork Producers Council says the information that will be available to pork producers next week, as part of World Pork Expo in Des Moines, will help provide them an advantage in the market place.
Delegates from about 30 countries are expected to be on hand next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at the Iowa State Fair Grounds in Des Moines for the 2017 edition of World Pork Expo, the world's largest pork specific trade show.
Doug Fricke, the Director of Trade Show Marketing with the National Pork Producers Council, says the focus of the annual event is to get producers together into a setting where they can see what's new in the industry and what they can bring into their business, whether it's services, equipment, technology, or breeding stock.

Clip-Doug Fricke-National Pork Producers Council:
We have a variety of business seminars.
Those are sponsored seminars that take place on Wednesday and Thursday from approximately 10:00 am through 5:00 pm both days.
Then we also have the Pork Academy which is put on by the national Pork Board.
That takes place on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 3:30.
That will have a variety of topics ranging from pig health to industry trends to economics to what's the forecast for 2018 and beyond.
You're going to see a lot of things that are pertinent to the operation of your hog farm and what advantages you can take away from the show can be pretty great when you look at the entirety of the event.

Fricke notes the trade show has expanded this year and will include over 450 companies representing products of all types.
He says registration will be open on line until June 1st at worldpork.org, after June 1st participants can register on site but he encourages anyone interested to pre-register to make the process quicker once they arrive.
